Ten years ago a couple from Wales, in the UK got married at the original Winter Park Wedding Chapel on Thursday, 4th March 2010. It was a beautiful spring wedding, with sunshine and a light breeze. At the time, the chapel was located then on New England Ave right in the Hannibal Square district of Winter Park. The Chapel had a beautiful cypress tree framing the quaint building.
Ten years later, the couple Susan and Roy from Cadoxton, in the Vale of Glamorgan contacted me directly to inquire about renewing their vows. They wanted to renew their vows on March, 4th 2020, which would be their 10 year wedding anniversary. A great springtime Wedding a perfect time of year to get married in Winter Park. The couple originally booked the chapel through a UK tour operator. So this time couple found us on line and contacted me via email. I found it easier to call the couple as explaining all the changes in an email can be very confusing (the Chapel you got married in was picked up and moved, additions added and looks very different now). Yes I’m happy to call couples overseas.
After sending them both prices along with pictures of the Hannibal Square Chapel and my new Winter Park Wedding Chapel, they decided to book the new Winter Park Wedding Chapel. I also offered them the option of booking one of my other great venues in Winter Park; Casa Feliz, Capen House, Alfond Inn and The First Congregational Church of Winter Park. All of these venue options were not available for me to book 10 years ago.
I hope we will see many more “renewal of vows” from our lovely past couples here and over the pond, especially now that couples have six venues to choose from! Please visit www.winterparkweddingcompany.com, as there is something for everyone. Wow I can’t believe it has been ten years, it has flown by! Nearly 700 weddings later, we are still going strong and loving what we do!!
