Art – During the pandemic

While I should be writing about Covid-19 and the pandemic, I realize that some of us may need a break from reality.  So, let us take a break for five minutes and look at some of the positive things that have come out of this lockdown.  Obviously, this is not meant to downplay the real hardships that some people have been through and are currently dealing with in regards to the pandemic.  This is rather meant to shine a light on an otherwise lamentable year.

Self portrait of Kate and her husband from their Wedding Day…Many years ago!

Sadly, a good friend of mine, Kate Collins, was furloughed, from her primary job, due to Covid-19.  This rather unfortunate event allowed her to follow one of her true passions, art.  It all started a few years ago when an acquaintance of mine had given me some arts supplies after relocating to California.  I had no use for these art supplies so I decided to pass them along to Kate.  While Kate was holding down her primary job, she started painting on the side as a hobby.  The hobby progressed into more of a passion, with Kate taking a number of classes at a local art school (Crealde School of Art in Winter Park http://crealde.org).  Kate’s talent blossomed and overnight there was an increased local demand for her artwork.   She quickly became commissioned by local businesses and private citizens to paint their most beloved possessions, mostly loved ones.

Over the years I have seen how Kate’s work and style has developed and improved.  Her artwork has brought so much joy to those who want such a special and priceless keepsake.  Since her art is traditionally of loved ones, I decided why not share her talent through Winter Park Wedding Company. These one-of-a-kind paintings are the perfect personalized gift for the bride and groom, wedding party family members or even as a special anniversary gift.

At the Winter Park Wedding Company, we have put together some unique wedding packages which include some amazing personalized artwork options.  If you do not see an option that fits your needs, please contact us and we would be honored to tailor a package that meets your needs.

Some details about the artwork and offered packages:
