Wedding signage is a hot new trend and if you have spent any time on Pinterest, you would have surely spotted plenty of wedding signs. Many wedding signs can be ordered online, however, we have a local wedding sign maker that we partnering with and we couldn’t be more excited about it! We are pleased to offer these signs as an additional service in our very popular A la Carte wedding menu.
We recently interviewed Lee Ann Diloreto of Lettering By Lee Ann. Lee Ann knows the Central Florida area well as she grew up and still lives in Winter Park. She went to Winter Park High School and graduated from UCF.

How long have you been in business? And how did you come up with the idea of the business?
I have been in business since early 2018. As a teenager I loved crafts and actually taught myself calligraphy as a hobby. In mid-2017 my daughter’s friends Orman Kimbrough and his then fiancé Amy Satcher asked me to address their wedding invitations. The family received so many compliments from their wedding guests on the handwritten calligraphy that they asked if they could refer me to others. This gave me the idea that this could become a fun part-time business! Wow, the thought of being able to do something that I love and make a little money was definitely a win-win for me! I find lettering and designing special items for special events almost therapeutic!

What type of signs do you create?
The services I provide include handwritten envelope addressing, place/escort cards and all types of wedding signage such as welcome signs, ceremony signs, order of events sign, and seating charts. Some other popular wedding items that I’ve done are table numbers, card boxes, and bar menus. I use many different mediums including mirrors, wood, acrylic, artist canvas, glass and chalkboards. Wedding signage is a beautiful way to enhance your wedding décor and add a personal touch to your special day. One of my favorite seating charts that I created was for a large wedding that I did on a trio of mirrors. Some of the most fun and unique place cards have been on ceramic tiles, natural stones and acrylic pieces. Besides weddings I also provide personalization gifts items including champagne flutes, hangers for gowns/robes and gift bags. If you have an item you want personalized I can do it!

What is your typical turnaround time?
Turnaround time can vary based on the item requested. I typically have a two-week turnaround time for handwritten envelopes and signage. However, if a client needs a rush order I am happy to provide a faster turnaround time if I am able.

Are you seeing any types of sign trends for weddings?
Trends in wedding signage are definitely ever-changing and typically follow the theme of the event. Recently, I’m seeing more acrylic used in signage. The use of mirrors is also very popular and can add a touch of elegance yet can be very eclectic and used with any theme. Wood and chalkboards can be perfect for more of a barn/boho/earthy or more casual themed event. To be quite honest, anything goes these days! The materials used on these signs can be chalk markers, permanent oil-based pens or even vinyl lettering (which I provide as well). I can write on a client’s own mirror, sign or chalkboard or I can provide the items for purchase or rental. Pricing will depend on what they decide to use. I also have a variety of different styles and sizes of easels that can be rented for their event.

Do you take custom sign orders or is there a standard sign list the customer can select from?
I definitely accept custom sign orders! I work with clients to help them design items based on their personal preference or re-create designs they’ve seen on Pinterest or other social media that they would like personalized for their own event. My website and Instagram have some photos from events that I have worked on in the past that can also help spark ideas for my clients, as well. I continue to add photos of these items as I go, but the possibilities are endless and I love to do new things!
